Community Meetings for Transportation

AUGUSTA, GA (Anibal Ibarra) - The Augusta Planning and Development Department (APDD) invites the public to participate in a second round of community meetings throughout the region during the months of July and August 2015. More than 1,100 persons provided input during the first round of community meetings and outreach from February through May 2015.

Members of the community gave ideas on the location and type of transportation improvements needed in the region, such as, highways, road maintenance, traffic safety, public transit, bike and pedestrian projects.

With jobs and population projected to grow exponentially over the next twenty years in the Augusta, GA – Aiken, SC Metropolitan region, a resilient multimodal transportation system will be crucial to sustain anticipated growth. The Public will have an opportunity to voice their opinions on the recommended Transportation Vision 2040 Plan and the FY 2015 -2018 Transportation Improvement Program (TIP) for the Augusta Regional Transportation Study (ARTS).
