Bus Route to Connect Fort Gordon and Mall

UPDATE (Anibal Ibarra) : A short drive from the Augusta Mall to Fort Gordon seems like a gigantic move to keep expanding public transportation. The new rout #10 was launched November 3, 2014. In May 2015 will be reviewed the service in order to make the necessary adjustments, according to city officials.

AUGUSTA, GA (Anibal Ibarra) - UPDATED 10/21/2014: A new route to connect the Augusta Mall and Fort Gordon was voted favorable by the Richmond County Commission. The pilot project set to begin November 3, one day prior the elections, will run for 6 months to adjust the service to the needs of the riders, then might continue normally. The Commission didn't allocate the full fund for the pilot and didn't hire a Director for the Augusta Public Transit (APT) also, yet. Other innovations are being discussed by the private operator and the Citizens Advisory Committee.
