Milestone for Georgia Regents University

AUGUSTA, Ga (Danielle Harris) - The Board of Trustees for the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges approved today a report from a SACSCOC peer review committee which found Georgia Regents University compliant with all areas of the accrediting body’s selected 39 Principles of Accreditation.

“This day marks another great milestone for Georgia Regents University,” said GRU President Ricardo Azziz. “I very am appreciative to the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges for its approval and for its recognition of the work that has taken place in such a short amount of time.”
The committee conducted an on-site visit in September and commended GRU officials on the university’s progress and continued focus on students since consolidating in January.

“We are grateful to have received this approval from the SACSCOC Board of Trustees,” said GRU Provost Gretchen Caughman.” This is a great step forward on our journey to become the next great American research university.”
