Hephzibah High Lockdown and More


UPDATE: Richmond County Investigators are seeking the public’s assistance in locating Lavarius Kentrez Beasley (Photo Attached) in relation to the Armed Robbery that occurred on 11/17/2013 in the Hephzibah High School parking lot.


Anyone with information regarding Beasley’s whereabouts is asked to call the Sheriff’s Office at 706-821-1080.  Callers may remain anonymous.


The Richmond County Sheriff’s Office responded to 5178 Henderson Road, Hephzibah GA 30815 in reference to a Criminal Attempt  Burglary in progress.  Upon arrival it was learned that the suspects (3 B/Ms) had left the scene travelling in a blue in color Toyota Corolla. Responding deputies in the area spotted the vehicle and a pursuit ensued.




The vehicle was abandoned by the suspects on Brothersville Road and the suspects ran inside Hephzibah High School in an attempt to getaway.  Hephzibah High School and surrounding schools were immediately placed on lockdown.  Two of the suspects were apprehended immediately and the third suspect was able to get back to the Toyota Corolla and a second short pursuit occurred with this suspect (Jakota Little) being apprehended after crashing the vehicle at Hwy 88 and Jones Street.   At the time of this release the three suspects were linked two other burglaries in the neighborhood.

All three suspects, Jakota Little (B/M, 28yoa 2600 blk Roosevelt Drive, Augusta GA 30904), David Corey Lawrence (B/M 29yoa, 227 Fox Trace, Augusta GA 30909) and Dechan Antonio Newton (B/M 24yoa, 2900 Block Edison Drive, Augusta GA 30909) will be charged with 1 count each of Criminal Attempt Burglary, 2 counts each of Burglary,  1 count each of Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon.   Further charges may follow.

The Richmond County Sheriff’s Office is requesting the public’s assistance with locating Terrell Moore (53 yoa/604/190) who committed a theft on 11/10/13 at 22:22 hours from Wal-Mart 3209 Deans Bridge Road Augusta GA 30906.

The Richmond County Sheriff’s Office is currently investigating a theft which occurred on 11/10/2013, Sunday around 5:00 PM at the Wal-Mart, 3209 Deans Bridge Rd. The surveillance footage depicts the following: An unknown Black Male wearing a black dark in color hoodie with the hood over his head, with dark pants, seen pushing a Wal-Mart buggy, and an unknown black female with a dark jacket with white in it, and a orange in color top, with light in color jeans and tan
or brown boots.

The couple walks to the Garden Center entrance from the parking lot after driving up in a maroon 4 door vehicle, possibly a Saturn seen in the photos. The male pulls out a buggy and sees a wallet was left in the shopping cart by the victim. The male then pushes the buggy to the vehicle and the female after seeing the male return to the car also returns to the car.
