Challenge to Georgia Obstructionists to ObamaCare

WHAT:            Representatives of Protect Your Care and Americans United For Change will partner with elected officials and other community advocates to hold a press conference to discuss the recent statements of Georgia Insurance Commissioner, Ralph Hudgens.   Insurance Commissioner Ralph Hudgens’ recent speech states that he will do everything he can to obstruct the Affordable Care Act also known as Obamacare.

Local political officials and community advocacy groups will stand in solidarity to challenge the Commissioner on his intentions, to put aside partisan politics and do what is in the best interests of the citizens of Georgia.  According to recent statistics released by Families USA, on October 1, 2013, more than 803,000 Georgians will have an opportunity to enroll in health care coverage with unprecedented financial help so that comprehensive insurance becomes affordable.  Additionally, new financial help through the Affordable Care Act will become available for middle and moderate-income people who do not have meaningful job-based health coverage.

WHO:              The press conference speakers will be:

Georgia State Senator Vincent Fort

Georgia State Senator Nan Orrock
