Liberty Tax Waver Banned in North Augusta

North Augusta, South Carolina - Don't shoot the messenger! Too late. The North Augusta Department of Public Safety (NADPS) has asked Liberty Tax Service to stop their advertising campaign using employees dressed as Statues of Liberty because their behavior is distracting and a violation of the law. Pictured Lark W. Jones, Mayor of North Augusta.

Management, as well as the curbside employees, were instructed to stop immediately. Liberty Tax Service employees stand at either the northwest corner of Martintown Road and Georgia Avenue or in front of North Hill Shopping Center, waiving signs of advertisement.

The local media reporting the case cited that North Augusta Public Safety officers say Liberty Tax could face fines between $500-$1000 if employees are out waving in their lady liberty attire on the Martintown sidewalk.

As for other characters advertising on public street occasionally, such as a Chick-fil-a cow, North Augusta officers say they will be held to the same standards if they are caught advertising on public sidewalks.

Some asked: What happened with free enterprise? Free enterprise: Freedom of private business to organize and operate for profit in a competitive system without interference by government beyond regulation necessary to protect public interest and keep the national economy in balance.

It could be interesting to know what governor Nikki Haley think about this and the "movement" she is leading to bring businesses to the state.

Criminalization of marketing, doing business and working (?)

Taxpayers are confident that crimes in North Augusta are being taking care when they see how their taxes are being used to chase 'criminal' wavers and 'criminal' businesses trying to make it in this tough economy. Not even mentioning the employees now out of work due to the job killer ordinance or probably the way is interpreted by the local government.

It is not clear if other distractions are going to be banned also such as the car wash for charity.

Turn Your House Into a Billboard

Ad firm Adzookie claims that, for people willing to turn their homes into billboards, it will make their monthly mortgage payments. Try to convince about this project to the North Augusta government.

According to the Adzookie CEO, the company has received thousands of applications from people willing to have their houses billboard-ified.

"Here are a few things we're looking for. You must own your home. It cannot be rented or leased. We'll paint the entire outside of the house, minus the roof, the windows and any awnings. Painting will take approximately 3 - 5 days. Your house must remain painted for at least three months and may be extended up to a year. If, for any reason, you decide to cancel after three months or if we cancel the agreement with you, we'll repaint your house back to the original colors."
At the left an actual house painted. The picture below is just an example.
