AUGUSTA, GA - GAHN hosted a community forum on January 19th, from 11:00-2:00, at the Richmond County Health Department.
The GEORGIA HEALTH SCIENCE UNIVERSITY (GHSU) College of Nursing is a member of the Greater Augusta Healthcare Network (GAHN), a nonprofit organization whose purpose is to improve the health and reduce the burden of illness in the greater Augusta community by increasing access to quality, cost effective health care for medically under-served residents.
The forum included presentations from representatives from Augusta Public Transit (Mobility Transit), the CSRA United Way, and the Augusta State University Literacy Center, and culminated in small group work sessions where participants worked together to create action plans for addressing four major barriers to health in our community (access to care, communication, health literacy, and program funding).
